365/09 Day 150

I love these trees!! The yellow of the honey locust contrasts so beautifully with the burgundy of the Norway maple. I'm not sure what the burgundy and pink tree is, but I'm suspecting it is a varigated beech tree. These trees are found in another park that is beautiful for taking photos.

365/09 Day 147

I love flavoured coffee, but I don't always like to get out the coffee maker. I know gourmet coffee drinkers would turn their nose at this, but I like that all I need to do is boil a pot of water to get the warmth and comfort of a cup of hot flavoured coffee.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 365/09 Day 142

Young and Old.

We did a photo session for a couple in our church this evening. They are both in their eighties, but you would never know. They still live on a beautiful piece of property out in the country. The wildlife they see everyday takes my breath away. Mr. P is holding a baby cottontail in his hands whose nest is not more than six feet from their back door. The mom comes in the evening to feed her six babies. They were telling Murray and I about how she carefully pulls her down over the nest and pats everything back into place when she is done. God's creation is so amazing!

365/09 Day140

I never thought I could get a shot like this! I took it on our Sony alpha 100 with a 1.4 /50mm lens. It was in the sunlight in our diningroom. I used F1.4 and a shutter speed of 1/320. It is a chive flower.

The BMX Boys| Sarnia Lambton County Event Photographers

Today after church and a little lunch, we headed off to the park. I was determined to master a couple of things that I have been having trouble with when I'm shooting. We took a wander down a path that lead to the BMX track. I thought the city had closed it down last year, but there was a pile of guys riding. Some of these guys were quite good!! Wow, could they catch some air. We spent about an hour watching them. It was great practice for me too. I worked a lot with changing my shutter speed.

This last one is my favorite shot. I love the expression on his face, the dirt spinning off the tire and the height of the bike and rider.

Dinner at a Friend's.
A reminder that not every photo I take has to be, or always will be, portrait quality. (Note the glare on Peach's glasses and the orange pop smiles). Sometimes I take photos simply for the memories they will hold.

I was playing with the exposure on the camera this evening. The first two are straight out of camera and the third is an edited version of the first one. I think, in the end I am happiest with the third one.
